The Power of Jasmine

Jasmine isn’t just a fragrance it’s an emotion, a memory, and in many parts of the world, a medicine. In Bali, where many of our retreats take place, jasmine garlands are offered at temples as a sign of devotion. In Ayurveda, jasmine oil is known for its ability to reduce anxiety, promote restful sleep, and balance the heart chakra.

When developing the North Star Essence jasmine oil, we spent months in sensory exploration. We trialed many different jasmine extracts from suppliers in Indonesia, India, and Egypt, each with its own profile. Some were too potent, others overly powdery. The Balinese extraction stood out instantly. It had a velvety floral note with an almost honeyed undertone that lingered without overwhelming.

We blend this with fractionated coconut oil to improve skin absorption and ensure the scent lasts without leaving residue. Our goal was simple: to create a scent that feels like returning to a safe, beautiful place wherever you are.

Ways to use jasmine in your daily rituals:

  • Morning grounding: Add 2–3 drops to your pulse points before journaling or meditation to anchor your focus.
  • Travel companion: Place a drop inside your yoga mat bag or carry-on pouch. When opened, it instantly recalls retreat mornings in Bali.
  • Bath ritual: Blend with unscented bath oil or Epsom salts for an evening soak that soothes the body and mind.

Jasmine became our signature not because it’s popular, but because it bridges the sensory and the soulful. It doesn’t just smell beautiful it feels like home. Every drop is an invitation to pause, breathe, and remember who you are when life slows down.
